Tree Removal, Trimming and Land Clearing Services by Jeff Mobley
Jeff Mobley Tree Service does three kinds of work: removing trees that have to come down, keeping healthy trees healthy, and clearing land for building. Jeff has worked on trees around St. Augustine and Jacksonville since 1998. Pick the service that fits your needs, or call Jeff at 904-540-2167 and he will point you in the right direction.
Tree removal and storm service
Jeff takes down dead, dangerous and storm-damaged trees, including trees on tight lots close to homes, fences and power lines. When a storm drops a tree on a roof or driveway, he's available 24/7, nights and weekends included, with same-day service based on availability.
Trimming, risk checks and second opinions
Pruning that keeps a healthy tree healthy and takes limbs off your roof. If another company told you a tree has to come down, Jeff will look at it for free. He'll tell you whether it needs removal, needs pruning, or can stay as it is.
Land clearing and site prep
Selective clearing that keeps the trees worth keeping, along with palmetto removal, demolition and prep for foundations and driveways. Jeff walks the lot first and marks which trees stay.

The equipment Jeff brings to a job
Jeff owns the machines he runs. Most of them were picked to keep weight off your lawn.
- Avant 420 articulating loader. Built by Avant Tecno in Finland and certified to go on golf courses. The machine pivots in the middle, so it turns without skidding its tires across the grass, and it weighs about 2,160 pounds on turf tires.
- Bandit SG-40 stump grinder. 29 inches wide on rubber tracks. It fits through a standard backyard gate, so grinding a stump doesn’t mean taking down a section of fence.
- Niftylift SD50 aerial lift. Self-drive, four-wheel drive, on rough-terrain tires. It puts Jeff 49½ feet up and 28½ feet out, sets up on outriggers, and weighs about 6,000 pounds.
- Yanmar ViO35-6 excavator with a thumb. A 3.5-ton machine with zero tail swing. The back end stays inside the tracks when it turns, which matters beside a house or a fence.
- Husqvarna, Echo and Stihl saws, including battery saws for quiet work and after-hours calls.
Crane work is subcontracted and runs to our rigging plan. On a 2021 pine removal behind three-story condominiums we worked off a 75-ton crane.
